God showed up in this season with a cast of faithful saints who ministered beyond preaching at me.

A prayer from a season of hurt. God invites us to not hurt alone but to stay with him for a little. Open the raw state of our inward health and invite him into the suffering.

This is a combination of many prayers into a longer one.

One day, I found myself in a season of suffering. I have had many ups and downs in my spiritual life and I have clung more closely to Jesus than ever before.

Have you ever wanted to have a spiritual conversation but don’t know how to start? Here are a few questions to enter into a spiritual conversation.

Consider how Jesus interacted with people. He makes everyone feel like they are important. He does not cut people off by interjecting truth. He doesn’t lose his anger with individuals. He’s definitely not arguing with people.

If we lose our cool, we lose.

When we find ourselves in a spiritual conversation, there is a logistic to politely “landing the plane”.

Here are a couple things we can encourage people to do.

Ministry of presence is ministry without words. When you roll up your sleeve and meet people where they are at, there will be times in which you are left without answers. Words may fail but your presence speaks volumes.

In gardening the ground must be cultivated before a seed can be planted. I call the cultivating work in the context of evangelism: “pre-evangelism”. Here we look for opportunities to invest in other people and build a stronger relationship.
