Spiritual Conversations - Heart Diagnosis
Imagine that you are a world class doctor in a specific discipline. You’re talking with a stranger who doesn’t know your profession but they start to describe symptoms of which you know the best remedy.
We need to become experts in heart ache issues.

Our hearts are “idol” factories. Human nature hungers to worship things and it happens constantly. Relationships, love, intelligence, knowledge, money, power, status, influence and pleasures. Christians and non-Christians deeply know the allure of such things.
We love chasing such things and they feel great, however all of them have a dark handcuff. They never love back in Christ’s love. They also fade like a drug high. The house wins and we need to go back into our pockets for another chunk of cash to keep the feeling going.
When we worship, the pure, transcendent GOd, who always loves us back with infinite pure love, our hearts find rest and shelter. Ahh yes, there are the fruits of the spirit in times of difficulty. No matter what challenge we face, God promises to be there.
Everyone apart from Christ has a heart crisis. They are either aware or unaware. You are the spiritual doctor and you should use your best judgement on how to introduce them to Christ’s love or help reveal the emptiness of their idol.
Remember- We don’t manufacture conviction, that’s the work of the Holy Spirit. We’re partnering with him in micro engagements. We try to sow little seeds of truth, or share pieces of our experience and we let him do the “heavy lifting”.
